Choose the right ticket product

Access to the gorge requires an official entry ticket purchased in advance through the official Camino del Barranco de Masca portal. Private vehicle parking in Masca village is strictly forbidden or restricted to a maximum 2-hour drop-off with heavy towing enforcement. Hikers must arrive by public transport (TITSA bus 355 from Santiago del Teide or Buenavista del Norte) or licensed taxi. Proper mountain hiking footwear with ankle support is legally mandatory; anyone wearing sandals, street sneakers, or smooth soles is turned away at the control checkpoint.

Before you book

The standard route is a challenging downhill descent (approx. 5 km, 650 m descent, 3–4 hours) ending at Masca Beach, where you board an authorized boat transfer to Puerto de Los Gigantes. From Los Gigantes, take a taxi or TITSA bus 325/460 back to your car at Santiago del Teide. High winds or swell can cancel boat operations, requiring either ascending back up or rescheduling.

Confirm current rules and slot availability on the official reservation portal before visiting. Wander Tenerife provides booking information and links directly to official sources.
