Choose the right ticket product

Permits are free of charge, non-transferable, and strictly tied to your passport or national ID number (checked at the checkpoint at 3,555 m). Slots are released in batches approximately 90 days in advance on the official OAPN reservations portal. They routinely sell out within minutes of release. If official permits are fully booked for your dates, licensed active-tourism companies with allocated guide quotas offer summit tours that include the permit.

Before you book

The permit grants access for a 2-hour window (09:00–11:00, 11:00–13:00, 13:00–15:00, or 15:00–17:00). You must arrange your ascent to La Rambleta separately — either by booking the Teide Cable Car (Teleférico) or by hiking up Trail #7 from Montaña Blanca. In winter and spring, snow, ice, or high winds frequently close the trail or cable car; always check current National Park alerts before setting off.

Confirm current rules and slot availability on the official reservation portal before visiting. Wander Tenerife provides booking information and links directly to official sources.

Frequently asked questions

What can I do if the official Teide summit permit is sold out?

If free slots on the OAPN portal are sold out, book an official guided tour with a certified mountain guide who holds allocated commercial permits. Alternatively, enjoy panoramic views from Mirador de La Fortaleza (Trail #11) or Mirador Pico Viejo (Trail #12) at La Rambleta, which do not require a permit.

Does booking a permit guarantee trail access on the day?

No. Access is subject to weather conditions, high wind shutdowns, and environmental alerts. Always check current National Park alerts before ascending.

What ID or documentation do I need to carry?

You must carry the original passport or national ID card whose number was used during registration. Park rangers inspect documents against the booking list.

Can I transfer my permit to someone else?

No. Official Tenerife permits are personal, strictly non-transferable, and cannot be resold or transferred to another name.
